I originally had a maxent plasma 1080i/720p 50" tv and went to a Sharp 1080p 65" LCD. THe sharp was very nice, but... you just cannot beat the picture quality of plasma. After a year with the sharp LCD, I sold it to a relative and went with this pany plasma 65". I don't know what it is, but the picture on a plasma, and especially this plasma, is always stunning. LCD is good... Plasma is best.
Very happy with this set. Just hope it doesn't fall off the wall because this set is heavy. The 65" LCD took 2 people to handle/mount/lift. THis set takes 3. Make sure you hit those wall studs when wall mounting. Out of the box it worked and looked great. Just set the video to "cinema" and turned on SS sound, that was it. No need to mess with service tweaking and things you shouldn't do, like so many others insist on doing. Got it directly from Amazon, thank goodness, was the last one left. Probably ok to buy from one of amazon's partner's but I prefer directly from amazon. These things are selling like hotcakes. No wonder why...

I researched what I wanted and watched 52" Samsung LCD TV prices like a hawk for about 9 months. I ended up getting a used 52A630 back in May of 2009 through Amazon Warehouse Deals. While it was a bit of a headache at times to go through Warehouse Deals, it all ended up okay as I got a great TV that has been working flawlessly so far.

I saved a good $300-$400 by going through Warehouse Deals. But I had ordered a 52A650 from them in April 2009 that I rejected upon delivery due to a problem with the screen. I risked going with them again and after a bit of a struggle with delivery I ended up with a great find in this 52A630.

The people at Warehouse Deals were at the very least helpful and willing to do as much as they could do to help.

I have been relying on Samsung products for quite a while and I have yet to be disappointed. I own a 50", this 26", 19" monitor, and digital cameras.

With that said, I want to quickly comment on a few of the more 'negative' reviews on certain aspects. First, the size. A 26" LCD is not a living room TV, it's definitely a bedroom (not a cavernous bedroom), small den, or office TV. Second, the sound quality. Right out of the box the default settings make it sound like a tiny music box...that's why you go through the settings and customize the sound with the 'equalizer'; it's absolutely fine now with zero complaints.

I bought mine through the Amazon Warehouse Deals section for $296 because the description mentioned a small blemish on the back housing...I STILL can't find it! Keep in mind that the full, new warranty is still in play when you buy from this section.

Seems like a nice TV for the price (had it only for an hour but tested it). PC display is low quality but we were not planning to use it for that. Do not buy a Samsung TV. My 40 inch Samsung LCD lasted just a little over 2 years. According to multiple internet sites

Samsung built a bunch of LCD TV's with bad capacitors that fail after a year or more (right after warranty is over).

You can do a simple Google search and find many people who have had the same problems. After a year or two, the TV's

no longer turn on. Samsung has been made aware of this issue, but refuses to correct the problem. There are multiple

sites that even tell you exactly how the problem is corrected. I am sure the number of people with this problem will

increase as time goes by. Even with the extended warranty, it is not worth the hassle of buying a large TV from a

company that does not support its products. I did a lot of research before choosing a Samsung, but since it was

Plasmas aren't as bright as LCD's in rooms with lots of ambient light. Great care must be taken (specially in the 1st 200 hours) to prevent burn-in. The screen is more reflective than most. Plasmas are like that.

Know these things going in, run a break-in procedure for the first 100 hours, dim the lights and get ready for what is still the best image in the flat screen market. Wide, rich, satifying color range. Very good blacks, no funky LCD motion artifacts. Under the correct conditions, and with a little forethought, a sublime viewing experience awaits.

This is my fist HDTV and I am not a tech-o-phile. I researched various internet sites and went to all of the various local stores to view many different HDTV's. In all of the stores, this set seemed to have the best or nearly the best picture -- regardless of price. I ended up paying $589 about ten days ago (on sale) and am thrilled with the purchase. The incredible ease of set up was unexpected. It is located in my family room and the viewing distances are approximately 6-10 feet, both direct and slightly angled. The picture quality is amazing. It is connected to cable with many HDTV options. I've also got the Wii hooked up to it and all of the games look terrific. I do not use a home theater system and the stock speakers in the TV seem more than adequate. I would recommend this HDTV to anyone who was viewing from within 10-12 feet.
